Turkish left-winger Arda Turan has been banned for 16 matches in the Spor Toto Super Lig on charges of attacking, threatening and insulting the match referees during a Turkish league match last week.

Turan, who represents Istanbul’s Medipol Basaksehir football club, had pushed deputy referee Erdinc Sezertam after getting red card during the match with Sivasspor last week. He had also misbehaved with the match referee Yasar Kemal Ugurlu.
The board also fined him 39,000 Turkish liras (Approx. $9,200 ) over the incident.
