Members of the newly established Friends of Azerbaijan Group within the European Parliament adopted a statement on the 26th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

The initiative to adopt the statement was put forward by Andrejs Mamikins, a member of the European Parliament from Latvia, a member of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs and co-chairman of the Friends of Azerbaijan Group, press service of the Milli Majlis.

This statement is the first document adopted by the European Parliament regarding the Khojaly genocide.
