A German lawyer is being bombarded with random deliveries of food by what has been described as a case of severe pizza stalking. Guido Grolle likes pizza, but he said that it is becoming so bad that he is unable to work.
He has already received over 100 orders in the last two and a half weeks with delivery drivers often passing one another as they drop off their orders. They appear at all times of the night and he’s even received notifications while he’s been in the shower getting ready for work. Some pizzerias have cottoned on to what’s happening and have called him to check whether he really has ordered anything from them.
It is a mystery as to who is behind the bizarre stunt, but Mr Grolle says he doesn’t believe it is someone with a grudge or an opponent. Normally they have been sending pizzas to his office in Dortmund, but since the pizzerias cottoned on the pizza flinger has started sending sushi, sausage and Greek food.
He has filed a complaint, turned off his work phone and put his emails through a filter just so he can get through his work. Another theory is that he’s been targeted because someone has mistaken him for being part of a bailiff company that is in the same building as his legal firm. Police are treating the incident as stalking because the offender is not being financially or materially enriched by what is happening. Investigations are continuing.
