President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani.

"Dear Mr. President,

I was deeply saddened by the news that the crew members were killed as a result of the crash of a tanker owned by your country.

I express my deepest condolences to You and the people of Iran on behalf of the Azerbaijani people and on my own behalf."
