Rivlin visited the family of a rabbi killed in Havat Gilad

On Sunday, January 14, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin paid a visit to the family of Rabbi Raziel Shevakh, who was killed as a result of the terrorist attack in the outpost of Khavat Gilad.
During the visit, Rivlin, in response to the family's request to legalize the outpost, said: "There is a logic in this that obliges you to think about, or at least pay attention to. In the end, decisions need to be made."
The settlement of Havat Gilad, located near the junction of Jeet, was founded in 2002 after the terrorist attack in the area. In that terrorist attack, Gilad Zar, who was the head of the security service of the district council of Samaria, was killed.
The land on which the outpost was based was acquired by Gilad Zara's father, Moshe Zar, who was one of the founders of the settlement movement in Samaria in the late 1970s. He purchased the land through his company "Had Gadya". Nevertheless, from time to time, Arabs through Israel's left radical organizations file suits, claiming that the outpost is on land owned by them.
As of 2016, 45 families lived in the settlement.
On January 10, the day after the terrorist act that killed Rabbi Raziel Shevah, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman ordered to check the possibility of legalizing an outpost.
