Today in Azerbaijan's Red Sloboda, large-scale works are underway to create the first Jewish museum of its kind.
It should be the first full-fledged historical and ethnographic museum of the Mountain-Jewish people in the world.
Already, an active work is underway to collect information on the Jews of the Caucasus and to search for exhibits, which proved to be significantly hampered by historical circumstances.
It is for this reason that the initiative group for the creation of the museum appeals to all those who have important historical information (this can be a book, a sheet of a notebook and even ancestral stories that were passed from father to son) - today they will help us recreate the picture of the history of Jews in the Caucasus.
Those who wish to share this information, thereby making their own contribution to the preservation of the historical heritage of their own people, can contact one of the project coordinators, David Mordekhaev, tel. +7 (968) 712-07-07.
I am sure that by our joint efforts we will be able to create a truly unique museum that will not only be a place of preservation of the traditional culture of our people, but also a real attraction, where tourists from all over the world will come!
