An international conference, titled “2017 – Year of Islamic Solidarity: Religions and Intercultural Dialogue” has kicked off at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku Dec. 21.

Kanal24 reports that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is taking part in the opening ceremony of the conference.

The international conference is attended by well-known states, religions and science figures, heads and representatives of 8 international organizations, special representatives of heads of states, religious confessional leaders, government, public and parliamentary members, representatives of the diplomatic corps from around 40 countries.

The conference began with reading verses from Holy Quran.
