The Israeli-African summit, which was due in autumn this year in Togo, but canceled at the last moment, will be held in Zambia.
This was announced by the President of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked Lung to host the summit during a meeting held last week in Nairobi at the inauguration ceremony of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyata.
According to Lungu, one of the main reasons for his visit to Nairobi was a request for a meeting, received from the Israeli prime minister.
The President of Zambia visited Israel in February 2017 at the head of a large government delegation. Following the visit, he said that he would bring substantial benefits to Zambia. The same statement was made after the meeting with Netanyahu in Kenya.
The Zambian embassy in Israel has been operating since 2015
