French President Emmanuel Macron met with the delegation of the European Jewish Congress (EJC).
During the meeting, EJC President Vyacheslav Moshe Kantor announced the position of the Congress on the refusal of any meetings or relations with the far-right and extreme left-wing political parties in Europe.
"We must draw a clear and unambiguous red line in relation to any interaction with the far-right and extreme left-wing political parties in Europe who are trying to unite on the basis of their attitude toward Israel or to use the Jewish community as a cover for their racist and xenophobic views. We strongly oppose any such attempts and express absolute solidarity with all those against whom intolerance and racism are directed, "Kantor said.
The head of the EJC also noted that the organization does not cherish illusions about political parties, an important part of the ideology of which is actually anti-Semitism, temporarily hidden for the sake of pre-election tactics and political expediency.
