According to a press release on the topic, the Defense Minister took part in laying the first stone of the new district in El Baat for demobilized Bedouin soldiers, visited the opening ceremony of the new 31 road in the Arad area and met with the heads of the municipalities of the South.
The laying of the first stone, which was held with the participation of the Minister of Construction Uri Ariel, was a very important event for both Bedouin soldiers and the heads of the Bedouin community in the south of the country. The process of district planning, obtaining the necessary permits and other procedures, according to the assembled, was completed very quickly, and the completion of the construction itself is planned for April next year.
In his speech, the Minister of Defense stressed that the integration of Bedouins into Israeli society is one of the tasks set for the government and society. "That is why we give it so much time and attention, and in this case it is necessary to provide a comprehensive solution. This is not only service in the army and the solution of the housing problem, it's still studying and finding employment after demobilization, "the minister said.
Lieberman also made it clear that caring for the needs of IDF soldiers is a priority, therefore, projects for Bedouin soldiers will be implemented first, and only then for the rest of the Bedouin population of the country. The minister expressed the hope that this project will give the Bedouin youth the necessary incentive for them to mobilize in the IDF.
