President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolence to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani.

Kanal24 informs text of the letter reads:

"Dear Mr. President,

I am very sad of news about the death of people as a result of a powerful earthquake in the west of your country.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to You, families and friends of victims, the people of Iran in connection with this tragedy on my behalf and on behalf of the Azerbaijani people and wish the soonest recovery of wounded.
May Allah rest them in peace!".
