During an official visit to Israel, Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip met today, November 10, with Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
During the dialogue, the head of the Moldovan government confirmed the interest of the Republic of Moldova in intensifying the partnership between the defense ministries of the two states.
Pavel Filip stressed that Moldova is open for signing a bilateral agreement on military-technical cooperation, which will include defense policy and planning, military training and technical assistance.
In turn, the Israeli official greeted the interest of the Moldovan authorities in the development of bilateral relations, including in the field of defense. Avigdor Lieberman said that he is proud that he was born in Moldova and studied in Chisinau.
Officials also exchanged views on the importance of joint efforts in the fight against terrorism, the reduction of illegal migration, trafficking in human beings and illicit drug trafficking.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip presented Avigdor Lieberman with the gift of the genealogical tree of his family, which has Orhei roots.
