The police are preparing for the arrival at the Wailing Wall of a large number of worshipers at the end of the post of 9 Av.
In this regard, from 17:00 on Tuesday, August 1, the entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem will be closed for all private vehicles except for the cars of residents of this area.
Citizens are asked to use public transport. Machines with a "disabled" sign will be able to enter the Old City through the Zion Gate, the press service of the police said.
During the last night, thousands of believers came to pray to the Wailing Wall.
About 500 people took part in the march of the women's movement "Women in Green" ("Our Beer Girl"). The event passed without incident.
On the eve of 9 Av, security measures were strengthened in Jerusalem. Police, border guards and volunteers are involved in maintaining order within the walls of the Old City and next to it. The protection of synagogues is also strengthened.
