During the terrorist attack on the Temple Mount, Magen David Adom (MDA) officers Aaron Adler, Israel Weingarten and Aaron Steinmetz fought desperately for the rescue of two wounded policemen - Hail Satauy and Kamil Chanan - for which they were awarded during a special ceremony on July 31 .
During the ceremony, MDA Director General Eli Bin said:
"A terrible attack on the Temple Mount still echoes. During the attack, I received many messages and, looking back at the incident, I can say that these people are heroes.
Those MDA employees who took part [in the rescue operation] and helped the wounded, are amazing people. The [medical workers'] actions during the attack were professional, and I admire the paramedics and volunteers who helped the victims. "
The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the IDA in Jerusalem. The employees received laudatory letters and promotion. In addition, Aaron Adler was particularly noted for refusing to leave the scene, despite the injury.
"According to medical terminology, I was just slightly injured," Adler says. "I decided first to deal with those who seriously suffered, and only then worry about myself."
As a result, Adler allowed himself to be evacuated only after he had finished assisting the other wounded
