Israeli embassies in Turkey are closed

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel decided to temporarily close diplomatic missions in Turkey - the embassy in Ankara and the consulate in Istanbul.
Diplomats will continue to work from home.
One of the reasons for this is the events in Amman, where the guard of the Israeli embassy was wounded. The second is the attacks of Turkish demonstrators on several synagogues on Saturday, July 22. Among the attacked - and the Istanbul synagogue "Neve Shalom."
In the evening of July 23, an attack was carried out on the guard of the Israeli embassy in Amman. He destroyed the attacker. However, Jordan, contrary to international law, requires the extradition of an Israeli with immunity.
A few days ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on Israel to take measures to resolve the situation on the Temple Mount. He demanded to remove the metal detectors and return to the situation that was there before the attack on the soldiers.
"The Islamic world will not silently observe the violence in the mosque of al-Aqsa. I call on Israel to renounce violence and act in accordance with international law, "Erdogan said.
