Mikhail Mirilashvili elected EAJC President

On July 24, an extraordinary General Assembly of the Eurasian Jewish Congress was held in Kfar Maccabia, with the aim of electing a new leadership and reorganizing the Congress.


Mikhail Mirilashvili was elected the new president of the EAJC, and he was still the first vice-president of this organization. The chairman of the board was businessman and investor, President of the Limmud CIS organization Aaron Frenkel.


Mikhail Mirilashvili (57), was born in Georgia, a pediatrician by training. He is concurrently deputy president of the World Jewish Congress and supports many Jewish and Zionist institutions and organizations, including the World Maccabi Movement, the Yad Vashem Museum, Peres Peace Center, Sohnut, Ichilov Hospital and Shiba Tel- Aviv University, the Musical Academy in Jerusalem and many others. The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress was established in 2002 on the initiative of the leaders of the Jewish Congress of Kazakhstan, the Federation of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Russia (Vaada of Russia) and the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine (Vaada of Ukraine). The EAJC was established to protect the rights and legitimate interests of the Jewish people, as well as to help meet community interests and needs and protect the rights of the Jewish people. To date, the Jewish communities of the following states are full members of the EAJC: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine , The Philippines and Japan.
