Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman ordered to employ dozens of engineers and production workers at the defense enterprises, who are fired as a result of the closure of the Visonik and Sogat plants in Kiryat Gat.

The relevant agreement was reached with the leadership of the military concern "TAAS Maarahot".

According to the head of the defense ministry, it is extremely important to help in employment of employees of closed enterprises, which must provide for their families. The Ministry of Defense must ensure the security of the state not only in the military sphere, but also in the social sphere.

Earlier, during a visit to the military enterprise "Ashot Ashkelon", Avigdor Lieberman stressed that he considered the support of the periphery as a priority task as the Minister of Defense. So, on his instructions, the maintenance center of the IDF (MASHA 7000) was transferred to the North, several months ago, with the support of the Ministry of Defense, the "Elbit" plant in Arad was opened, an agreement worth 250 million shekels was signed with the company Katsa (" The Eilat-Ashkelon pipeline ") for the development of infrastructure.

In addition, the possibility of speeding up the transfer of "TAAS" from Ramat Ha-Sharon to the south of the country, to Ramat-Bek, is being discussed. Defense enterprises in the areas adjacent to the Gaza Strip and in the north of the country received orders from the Ministry of Defense for 4.5 billion shekels last year, and new bases in the South (Kiryat Modiin and Kiryat Tikshuv) should provide about 800 local Inhabitants of the workplace.
