U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will make his first official visit to Kyiv, Ukraine on July 9, according to the U.S. State Department.
While in Kiev, “he will meet President Poroshenko and with young reformers from government and civil society,” reads the report.
“The Secretary will reaffirm America’s commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while encouraging the Government of Ukraine to continue implementing reforms that will strengthen Ukraine’s economic, political, and military resilience,” the U.S. State Department wrote.
It is also reported that ahead of the Kyiv visit, Mr Tillerson “will accompany U.S. President Donald J. Trump on travel to Hamburg, Germany, July 5–9.”
