6.1 earthquake strikes eastern Iran

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has hit eastern Iran on Wednesday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported.

According to the center’s information, the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 63 km north of Iran’s city of Kerman, which has a population of about 600,000 people, at a depth of 10 km.

There is no information about damages and victims yet.

On Tuesday, a 5.7-magnitude earthquake in Iran’s province of Kerman left 18 people injured.
